Civil Surgeon Office Job Circular 2022. Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS for short) is the civil service of the Government of Bangladesh. It originated from the former Central Superior Service of Pakistan, the successor to the Indian Civil Service controlled by the British Empress during the colonial rule. Since independence it has been known as Bangladesh Civil Service by the Civil Service Ordinance. Its policies and board of directors are determined by the Bangladesh Public Service Commission. The number of BCS cadres is 26. This part of the civil bureaucracy is a colonial legacy. The British ruled the local people through the Indian Civil Service (ICS) and most of the ICS officers were British.
It was in the early twentieth century that the Indians also started competing against the British and most of the Indians made it to the ICS. During the partition of India in 1947, the term ‘Central Superior Services’ used in Pakistan and the concept of All-Pakistan service continued. After gaining independence in 1971, the Bangladesh Civil Service formed by a law of President Sheikh Mujibur Rahman to develop the system of government in the new country. On 13 November 2016, on the recommendation of PSC, the Ministry of Public Administration published a gazette by integrating the economic cadre into the administration cadre. Recent Civil Surgeon Job Circular 2022
The Bangladesh Civil Service Administration Academy started its journey on 21 October 1986 as a joint department under the Ministry of Public Administration. The academy known as the Gazetted Officers Training Academy (GOTA) until its transformation into the Civil Officers Training Academy (COTA) in 1986. Both the Civil Officers Training Academy and the Gazetted Officers Training Academy run as training centers for all cadre officers of the Bangladesh Civil Service. For some time after its establishment, the academy only engaged in training newly recruited and mid-level officers of the Bangladesh Civil Service Administration Cadre.
Subsequently, the Academy was responsible for imparting training to Bangladesh. Civil Service Foreign Affairs Cadre Officers till the establishment of a separate Foreign Service Academy in 1996. Initially this academy started its activities with 4 faculty members. At present the number of faculty members and support staff is 120. The Academy first started its journey through a three-month law and administration course from 21 October 1986 to 30 January 1978. 56 officers of Bangladesh Civil Service Administration Cadre participated in the course.
