The Metropolitan Sessions Judge’s Court or the Metropolitan Sessions Judge’s Court is a type of Sessions Court which is found only in the metropolitan cities of Bangladesh. The Metropolitan Sessions Court only deals with criminal cases in the metropolitan area. These courts are governed by sessions judges. The Sessions Judge was appointed by the government in accordance with the 2009 amendment to the Criminal Procedure Code of Bangladesh. The Government of Bangladesh will have to set up separate Sessions Courts for Metropolitan Cities for criminal procedure. The Metropolitan Magistrate’s Court is under the control and jurisdiction of the Metropolitan Sessions Judge’s Court.
