So Bangladesh-based, we are committed to solving public health problems facing low- and middle-income countries through innovative scientific research-including laboratory-based, clinical, epidemiological, and healthcare research. Now developing, testing and evaluating interventions designed specifically for resource-poor environments, we aim to improve the health and well-being of people living in the world’s poorest countries. But more than 50 years, we have been conducting high-quality research and promoting evidence-based interventions. Actually our initial focus was on diarrhea, but now we study multiple infectious diseases, other threats to public health, and healthcare delivery methods.
Our work has had a profound impact on health policy and has been practiced locally and globally – and this remains our core goal for the future. We are happy to share our strategic plan 2019-2022. The new plan lays the strategic foundation for our work. Our 2015-2016 strategic plan was revolutionary, successfully restructuring the organization to improve capacity, efficiency and governance, secure the future of ICDDR, B, and improve our science and innovation through the implementation of a focused research strategy. Now we will continue to focus on our research in non-essential areas. Besides developing high-quality research programs to address major health challenges in Bangladesh and the global south. Besides goal Two: Develop and promote the use of innovation for Bangladesh and the global South. Then we will implement, develop and evaluate innovative models of innovation-product. Equipment and service delivery according to the needs of Bangladesh and other low-resource settings. Through our hospital, we will continue to provide high quality clinical services in diarrhea and malnutrition. So we will provide advice and training in humanitarian emergency response situations. But we will continue to develop our research infrastructure for population-based, clinical, and laboratory-based research to ensure that it is consistent with our research objectives, internationally competitive, and financially sustainable.
