ESDO Job Circular 2022
ESDO is one of the most dynamic organizations covering over 7.87 million poor. Vulnerable people across 243 upazilas under 43 districts of Bangladesh. Bangladesh’s poverty rate dropped from about 60% in the early 1990s to 40% in 2005. Besides 31.5% to 23.5% in 2016 and is expected to drop to 18.6% by 2020. However, the number of poor people still remains. Between 2050 (BBS) it will be 239 million. In 1950 it was 6% of the population (over 60 years old) and 41% of the young population, in 2017. It will be 18.8% of the young population (economic review) in 2020. Then it will be 8% of the elderly population and in 2030 it will be 25% of the young population. Older population will be 12% and young population will be 22%. In 2050, Bangladesh will have 22% old population and 16% young population.
