Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Maritime University, Bangladesh is the 36th Government University of Bangladesh. It is the second maritime university in South Asia and the 12th in the world. Marine Academy established in 1982. It was the only naval education institution in East and West Pakistan at that time. Since its inception, the Bangladesh Navy in charge of the management of the Marine Academy since independence. It currently operated under the Ministry of Shipping.
